Story line:
My idea involves the kidnaping of a child. To use a child for me, is more relatable as its mostly teenagers that watch horror and thriller films. I also want to use a child, as its more realistic as a kidnapper would find it easier to take an 11 year old boy, then a 50 year old man.
Trailer:
An example of a kidnapping trailer is for the film 'KIDNAP.' Its not my favourite trailer or film as it practically explains the film in the trailer. Besides this, its a really intense trailer and again, uses a child so sympathy is shown and when people watch it they will find it more relatable as that would've been there age a few years before or they may have siblings that age.
Character:
My favourite character from a kidnapping film has to be in taken. Liam Nesson, although he's not the kidnapper and is not kidnapped, for me makes the film one of the best kidnapping thrillers there is. They are so good that there is 3! For me he plays a dad that cares about his daughter very well and realistically, but then to make a good thriller has a sense of un-naturalistically as he is so talented at finding his daughter. This my favourite scene out of the 3 taken's:
Songs/soundtrack's:
My favourite song from a triller film that i think fits perfectly is in Harry Potter. It may be cliche, but for me the song of harry potter is actually what makes it such a infectious sequence of movies. The soundtrack is not only used in every trailer but also in the most intense scenes.
Setting:
In terms of setting, I think for a good thriller, good setting is key. This is because depending on the setting it can build of lower the tension. An example of this is if the sky's were blue and the sun was shining you wouldn't be scared or think that something bad is foreboding, whereas if it was raining and thunderstorms you would be more likely to expect something bad to happen as the tension would be high.
Here is two examples of contrasts of setting in the same thriller film:

Knock Knock
In this scene danger is being forebode as the girls have just turned up and we can sense that something bad is going to happen as thunder is happening in the background.
Whereas, in this scene, despite it being a thriller film due to the bright sky's, and humorous effect of how his kitchen looks, the audience may forget for a few seconds its a Thriller film, all because of the setting.
